Sondalo (mt. 940)
Thanks to its dry climate and clean air, in Sondalo in 1901 stood a mountain of the first institutions for the treatment of lung disease, the Pinewood Sortenna, the first Italian sanatorium.
Among the pines themselves at the foot of Mount Sortenna stood in 1946 on the behest of fascist climate Eugenio Morelli Hospital with 2500 beds well.
An architectural gem, which is also surrounded by pine trees, is the Vocational Training Centre Vallesana.
The story screams still the desire of faith through its numerous churches, among which stands out for the artistic value of S. Marta the thirteenth century but in Baroque style, it restructured in 1787 (none the Romanesque bell tower).
